Group of meditators celebrating World Meditation Day

The Significance

For over 20 years, PSSM has begun its 11-day Dhyan Mahachakaram on this sacred date.

In 2024, the United Nations recognised December 21st as World Meditation Day, with India as the global partner.

Aligned with the Solstice, this day symbolizes renewal and the shift from darkness to light.

Meditating together deepens individual experience, strengthens emotional resilience, and creates a ripple of peace across communities.

On December 21, millions across the world will pause, breathe, and turn inward to honour a shared commitment to inner peace and collective harmony. Your presence is your contribution to peace.

Project Meditation

Project Meditation, championed by Dr. D. R. Kaarthikeyan and Brahmarshi Patriji, is a worldwide movement dedicated to transforming human consciousness through the universal practice of meditation. The goal is to empower everyone with the simplest, most profound Ana-Pana-Sati technique.

Core mission pillars:

  • Universal Reach: Establish meditation as a daily, non-negotiable practice for every individual across communities.
  • Consciousness Upliftment: Drive holistic development, moving humanity from conflict toward peace, harmony, love, and prosperity.
  • Societal Transformation: Integrate meditation into education, governance, healthcare, and the corporate sector for a truly joyous world.

About Anapansati Meditation

In “Anapansati Meditation“, the attention of the mind should constantly be on the normal, natural breath. The task on hand is effortful, joyful oneness with the breath. The practice of meditation is deeply simple and grounded in the harmony of breath and awareness.

The path guides a practitioner toward balance through posture, focus, and reverence for each inhale and exhale. Follow these five steady steps:

  1. 1.Sit comfortably
  2. 2.Hands should be clasped and all fingers should go into all fingers
  3. 3.The feet should be crossed
  4. 4.The eyes should be closed
  5. 5.Observe the normal natural breath
